Our System 41 roller pollen screen for single doors uses our finest available mesh — engineered to filter airborne pollen while still allowing fresh air through the opening. Custom made to your exact measurements in our UK factory. The cassette mounts to one side of the door frame; pull the screen across and it seals magnetically on the opposite side.
Windows open all evening — no flies, no pollenPaid extra for the pollen screens as several family members have spring/summer allergies. Quality of the screening material is excellent. Nice to have doors and windows open without letting in flies or mosquitoes.

Many purchases — all great qualityI've bought many products including pollen and fly mesh blinds from this company and they have all been great. Made to measure, delivered within days. Very good quality and communication.
Standard fly screen mesh blocks insects but its weave is too open to intercept fine airborne pollen. Our pollen mesh uses a tighter weave that filters pollen particles while still allowing good airflow through the door. It also retains full insect-blocking properties — you don't have to choose between pollen reduction and keeping insects out. Four mesh types available across the same System 41 cassette — select below.
If you're buying to manage hay fever or allergy symptoms, our pollen mesh is the right choice. All four mesh types use the identical System 41 cassette and door frame profiles. Just select below.
Most customers fit their roller pollen screen in around 20 minutes. Here's how it works.

Need pollen protection for French doors or windows as well? The same pollen-filtering mesh is available across the full System 41 range. Note: screw fix only — no-drill is not available with pollen mesh.
Leave the door open during pollen season.
The UK pollen season runs from February through September. For hay fever sufferers, open doors during peak months mean pollen, symptoms and compromise. Our roller pollen screen for single doors uses our finest available mesh — engineered to intercept fine airborne pollen particles while still allowing good airflow through the opening. It also retains full insect-blocking properties, so flies, wasps and other common insects are excluded at the same time.
Standard fly screen mesh blocks insects but its weave is too open to intercept fine pollen particles. Our pollen mesh uses a tighter construction that stops pollen while still permitting adequate airflow. The brushpile strips running along the top and bottom guides create a continuous seal along both horizontal edges — preventing pollen from entering above and below the mesh as well as through it. The magnetic side profile seals the leading edge on the side opposite the cassette.
A pollen screen significantly reduces the amount of airborne pollen entering through a door. It does not eliminate pollen entirely from your home — pollen can still enter through other openings. For hay fever sufferers, reducing pollen through open doors can make a real practical difference to day-to-day comfort during peak season.
The cassette mounts vertically to one side of the door frame. The screen pulls horizontally across the opening and seats magnetically into the side profile on the opposite side. To retract, pull the handle back — the spring-loaded cassette draws the mesh in with a smooth, braked return. When the door is closed, the screen sits fully retracted and protected inside the cassette.
The System 41 single door screen is suitable for both inward and outward opening doors. The system was originally designed for European use, where doors typically open inward — and in those cases the screen is mounted externally. For outward opening doors, the screen is mounted internally instead.
Whether to recess fix or face fix depends on the door frame. If there is sufficient depth within the reveal to accommodate the cassette, recess fixing is the cleaner option. If not, the cassette and magnetic side profile can be face fixed to the door frame surround. One important consideration when face fixing: the cassette and magnetic side profile should be positioned directly around the opening — we'd recommend not allowing any additional overlap — otherwise the handle cannot clear the fixing surface. If you're unsure how to measure for face fixing, contact us before ordering.
The no-drill fixing option is not available with pollen mesh — screw fix is required for all pollen screen configurations.
The single door System 41 screen is available with all four mesh options. Browse the other single door mesh types:

Roller Pollen Screen for Single Door and Child Safety
Child Safe By Design - Handle on Sliding Bar: Roller Pollen Screen for Single Door can be operated using discrete handle on the sliding bar. We call this ‘child safe by design’ as there are no looped cords or chains to operate the blind.
About Child Safety
At newblinds.co.uk, child safety is of paramount importance. If left hanging freely, chains and cords from blinds can pose a direct threat to children. For this reason, we are working towards all of our products being cord-less or chain-free and therefore “safe by design”.
Where it is not yet feasible to supply a product that is “safe by design”, we ensure that the product is fully compliant with Child Safety legislation. Not only do we ensure that, where necessary, our products are supplied/fitted with child safety cleats/devices, but we also supply, free of charge, these items to our previous customers.
