Our System 41 roller fly screen for double doors uses two cassettes — one mounted to each side of the door. Each screen pulls to the middle of the opening and the two sliding bars hold together via opposing magnetic strips where they meet. Custom made to your exact measurements in our UK factory. Standard insect mesh, midge, pollen and pet-resistant versions all available.

Bought one, then ordered three moreI bought one fly screen to test it. Then ordered three more. They look great and work brilliantly — smooth every time and lock in position.
3rd order — wish I'd discovered it soonerThis is my 3rd roller fly screen. Easy to fit and simple to use. No more replacing/cutting fly screen netting and sticky velcro.
Our standard 18×16 fibreglass mesh blocks flies, wasps, spiders and common UK insects while letting air flow freely through the full width of the opening. PVC-coated fibreglass in charcoal — weatherproof, unobtrusive, and with minimal effect on your view or the light coming through the doors. Four mesh types are available across the same System 41 twin cassette — select below.
Our standard roller fly screen uses an 18×16 fibreglass weave — the same proven mesh we've supplied since 1994. All four mesh types use the identical System 41 twin cassette and door frame profiles. Just select below.
Most customers fit their roller door fly screen in around 30 to 40 minutes. Here's how it works.

Need fly screen protection for single doors or windows as well? The same cassette, mesh and profiles are available across the full range.
A retractable fly screen across the full width of your double doors.
The double door System 41 fly screen uses two cassettes — one mounted vertically to each side of the door. Each screen pulls independently from its cassette towards the centre of the opening. Where the two sliding bars meet in the middle, opposing magnetic strips hold them together, closing the screen across the full aperture without a centre post or any fixed hardware in the opening.
Each cassette sits vertically at one side of the door frame — 41mm deep and 51mm wide. The top and bottom guides run horizontally between the cassettes, housing the brushpile seal that prevents insects entering above and below the mesh. When you want to use the screens, draw each sliding bar from its cassette towards the centre. The two bars meet and hold together magnetically. To retract, pull each handle back — the spring-loaded cassette draws the mesh in with a smooth, braked return.
One of the practical advantages of the twin cassette design is that there is no fixed centre post in the opening. The two screens close against each other via opposing magnetic strips on the sliding bars. This means the full width of the door opening remains unobstructed when the screens are retracted, and when they are deployed there is no fixed structural element in the way of the doorway — just the two connecting sliding bars at the centre.
An optional pair of sliding bolts can be added to one of the sliding bars, locking it into keepers fixed to the top and bottom guide. This holds one screen in the deployed position while the other is drawn across to close against it — making it easier to close the second screen cleanly. A second pair of sliding bolts can be added to the opposite sliding bar, allowing both screens to be locked independently in the deployed position.
The System 41 double door screen is suitable for both inward and outward opening doors. The system was originally designed for European use, where doors typically open inward — and in those cases the screens are mounted externally. For outward opening doors, the screens are mounted internally instead.
Whether to recess fix or face fix depends on the door frame. If there is sufficient depth within the reveal to accommodate the cassettes, recess fixing is the cleaner option. If not, the cassettes and closing components can be face fixed to the door frame surround. One important consideration when face fixing: the cassettes should be positioned directly around the opening — we'd recommend not allowing any additional overlap — otherwise the handles cannot clear the fixing surface. If you're unsure how to measure for face fixing, contact us before ordering.
Every screen is hand-built in our UK factory to your exact measurements. Both cassettes, the top and bottom guides and all closing components are cut to the specified width and drop — there is no trimming on site. A screen that fits precisely also seals correctly: gaps at the edges or centre defeat the purpose of the screen.

Roller Fly Screen for Double Door and Child Safety
Child Safe By Design - Handle on Sliding Bar: Roller Fly Screen for Double Door can be operated using discrete handle on the sliding bar. We call this ‘child safe by design’ as there are no looped cords or chains to operate the blind.
About Child Safety
At newblinds.co.uk, child safety is of paramount importance. If left hanging freely, chains and cords from blinds can pose a direct threat to children. For this reason, we are working towards all of our products being cord-less or chain-free and therefore “safe by design”.
Where it is not yet feasible to supply a product that is “safe by design”, we ensure that the product is fully compliant with Child Safety legislation. Not only do we ensure that, where necessary, our products are supplied/fitted with child safety cleats/devices, but we also supply, free of charge, these items to our previous customers.
