You should follow these instructions if: You are installing your blinds inside of a recess. You would like us to make the manufacturers recommended deductions so that the blind fits within this recess perfectly. Recess size If you intend to hang your blinds within the window recess (sometimes called the reveal), you should measure the "recess size" which is the exact width and drop of the window recess. You should follow the instructions below. Measure the width of the recess from wall to wall in 3 places. Note down the shortest measurement. Measure the drop from the top of the recess to the window sill in 3 places. Note down the shortest measurement - this is the one you should use. When you enter your measurements, select size type as "recess size". Do not make a deduction! As you have given us the exact dimensions of the recess, we will make the necessary deductions so that your blind will fit perfectly into the recess. What is “fabric size”? If you are buying a roller blind from us online you will be presented with three options once you have entered your measurements: recess size, exact blind size and fabric size. When would I choose fabric size? Roller blinds are the only product with the fabric size option. Fabric size is most commonly chosen when the customer knows the exact size of the fabric they need to cover a recess and are looking to fit the blind outside the recess.

Yesterday, we visited Louvolite and took a tour of both of their, without exaggerating, spectacular manufacturing facilities. Being one of our key suppliers, and also our most local supplier, we thought it would be beneficial to go to learn more about how the fabrics and components that we use to manufacture window blinds for customers of NewBlinds.co.uk are produced. The day started with a tour of Louvolite’s  fabric production facility in Levenshulme. We were then whisked off to their other factory, based in Newton, which produces components, handles logistics, marketing and product design.

Firstly, what are extra wide blinds? Well if you have a large window or bi-fold door, such as those used in modern apartments, home extensions or office buildings, then you will have experienced the problems of trying to find a suitable window covering. Extra wide blinds are extremely useful when you need to cover wide expanses of glass but you do not want to spoil the contemporary look by using two or three separate blinds, for example in modern city apartments, offices, patio doors or bi-fold doors. Below, we will out-line your options for covering such large window openings.There are several types of blinds that are suited to extra wide applications, these are: 1. Roller Blinds, Electric Roller Blinds, Battery Operated Roller Blinds: Our roller blind table has the capability to manufacture blinds of up to 4m width. We have also sourced a range of specialist wide-width fabrics, which enables larger sizes to be manufactured without welded or stictched joins. We can in some circumstances, fabric dependent, manufacture wider than that. We would suggest a roller blind of this size should be automated for ease of use - like the one we installed for the Restoration Man TV show, shown below. We have a range of options for control of extra-large electric roller blinds, such as handset, app control, voice activation and integration with smart home or building management systems. 2. Venetian Blinds - specifically those with aluminium slats, are perfect for extra wide windows, they are lightweight which allows them to be raised, lowered and tilted with ease.
