Measure Your Window Recess
Measure the internal width and height of your window recess — not the window itself. Check the recess depth is at least 56mm front-to-back, and the recess width is at least 650mm. Maximum size is 1600mm wide × 1600mm high. Watch our measuring and installation video before ordering.

Configure on the Product Page
Enter your recess measurements. The screen is available in white only. No fixing method to select — expanding end-caps are the standard fitting. Download the Measuring & Installation Guide (PDF) in advance.

Position and Expand
Place the screen in the window recess. Tighten the Allen keys on the four end-caps — two at the top of each side channel — to expand them against the sides of the reveal. The cassette seats against the top of the recess. No drilling, no screws, no mess.

Pull Down When You Need Fresh Air
Grip the integrated handle on the hem bar and pull the screen down to the sill. The hem bar closes against the sill with a wool pile seal — the side channels also have wool pile — creating a sealed screen across the full window opening. Pull the handle up to retract; the spring-loaded mechanism draws the mesh back with a smooth, braked return.

If you live in a rented home, it means insect-free fresh air without touching the window frame — and no trace left when you move out. The screen fits entirely inside the window recess. The cassette — housing the rolled mesh and the spring-loaded retraction mechanism — sits at the top of the recess. The side channels run down both sides of the reveal, their end-caps expanding to grip the sides. No screws touch the frame.
How the No-Drill Fitting Works
The screen arrives fully assembled. Place it inside the recess so the cassette sits flush against the top, and tighten the Allen keys on the four end-caps — two at the top and two at the bottom of each side channel. As you tighten, the end-caps expand outward and grip the reveal walls, holding the screen securely in place. To remove, slacken the bolts and lift the screen clear. The recess is left undamaged.
How the Screen Operates
The mesh is crafted from tear-resistant fibreglass, keeping mosquitoes, flies and other insects from entering through your window. Grip the integrated handle on the hem bar and pull the screen downward. It travels within the side channels and comes to rest at or near the windowsill — a wool pile seal on the hem bar and along both side channels ensures a snug fit around all four edges, preventing insects from entering at any gap. To retract, pull the handle upward — the spring-loaded mechanism draws the mesh back with a smooth, braked return.
What's Different From the Screw-Fix Version
The no-drill window screen and the screw-fix System 41 window screen are different products. The no-drill version is available in white only, fits recess installations only, and uses standard insect mesh — midge, pollen and pet mesh variants are not available. Is My Window Recess Deep and Wide Enough?
The no-drill window screen requires a minimum recess depth of 56mm — measured front to back — and a minimum recess width of 650mm. The 56mm depth accommodates the side channels including the expanded end-caps (36mm to the rear). If your recess is shallower or narrower, contact us to discuss alternatives before ordering.
