Perfect for rented properties or anywhere you'd prefer not to drill into the door frame. The screen fits entirely within the door recess — the cassette expands to grip the top and bottom; the side channel end-caps expand to grip the sides. No screws, no fixings, no damage. Leaves no trace when removed. Standard insect mesh — blocks flies, wasps, spiders and common UK insects.
The no-drill screen arrives fully assembled. Most customers are done in under 10 minutes.

Need no-drill protection for windows too? Or considering the screw-fix door screen for more colour options and mesh types?
A retractable fly screen for your door — fitted in minutes, without a single screw.
For rented properties, listed buildings, or simply anywhere you'd prefer not to drill into the door frame, our no-drill roller fly screen offers a clean, damage-free alternative. The screen fits entirely inside the door recess. The cassette — housing the rolled mesh and the spring-loaded retraction mechanism — sits at one side of the recess, gripping the top and bottom walls via expanding end-caps. The side channels run top to bottom of the recess, their own end-caps expanding to grip the sides. No screws touch the frame.
The screen arrives fully assembled. To install, place it inside the recess and tighten the Allen keys on the four end-caps — two on the cassette and two on the side channel ends. As you tighten, the end-caps expand outward and grip the recess walls, holding the screen firmly in place without any drilling. To remove, simply slacken the bolts and lift the screen clear. The recess is left undamaged.
Grip the integrated handle on the sliding bar and pull the screen horizontally across the opening. The sliding bar closes against the opposite recess wall — a wool pile seal on the bar and on all four sides of the channels ensures a snug, insect-proof fit around the entire perimeter. To retract, pull the handle back — the spring-loaded mechanism draws the mesh in with a smooth, braked return, so there is no snap-back.
The no-drill single door screen and the screw-fix System 41 single door screen are different products. The no-drill version is available in white only, fits recess installations only, and uses standard insect mesh — midge, pollen and pet mesh variants are not available on this product. The screw-fix System 41 offers three frame colours, recess or face fix, and all four mesh types. If you need any of those options, see our screw-fix single door screens.
The no-drill screen requires a minimum recess depth of 42mm — measured front to back from the face of the door frame to the back of the recess. This is the depth needed to accommodate the cassette (42mm deep) without it protruding. If your recess is shallower than 42mm, the screw-fix face fix option may be more suitable.
Every screen is custom made to your exact recess measurements — up to 1600mm wide and 2250mm high. Enter the internal width and height of the recess on the product page. There is no trimming required and no adjustments on site.
