Our honeycomb pleated blinds are the perfect blind for any normal window in your home, as well as conservatory side windows.

Cellular Blackout
Energy Saving, Blackout and with no visible holes for the lifting cords! Cellular Blackout fabrics (a.k.a Honeycomb or Duette Blackout) consist of double-layered cells of fabric that act as an insulating cushion between the inside of your home or conservatory and the outside world. Our cellular blackout range also incorporate a reflective foil layer inside of the cell, which further enhances insulation - reducing your energy spend on heating and cooling and potentially saving you money! All fabrics are a uniform white in colour on the exterior face, and coloured on the inside face. Lifting cords run through the middle of the honeycomb structure, meaning there are no visible holes or light ingress through the surface of the fabric. Whist the fabric itself is blackout, you may see light ingress around the edges of your blind.

Will my pleated blinds have cords running through in the fabric?
Single pleated fabrics and voiles will have visible lifting cords running through the fabric, along with holes in the pleats for these lifting cords to pass through. Cellular fabrics such as CosiShade and CosiBLOC will not have visible lifting cords or holes, since the cords run through the honeycomb structure of the fabric.
How to clean pleated blind fabrics?
- Unclip the pleated blind from its brackets and remove it from the window
- Fully open/lower the blind and lay it out on a flat and clean surface.
- Dust with a feather duster.
- If you wish to use a vacuum cleaner, you can do so gently, using an upholstery attachment.
- When dusting/vacuuming, gently follow the line of each pleat and remove any dust working from top to bottom of the blind.
- Once you are finished, carefully turn over the blind and repeat the above process.
- For any finger-prints or soiling of the fabric, we would recommend requesting guidance from [email protected] because cleaning requirements may vary from fabric to fabric.
- For dust inside the cells of cellular fabrics, you can use a hair dryer on the lowest, cool air setting will blow the dust-out.
- Please note, using excessive force or pressure when cleaning/dusting your blinds may cause the blinds to permanently crease or lose their shape.
Honeycomb Pleated Blinds and Child Safety
Cord Operation - With Child Safety Cleat: Pleated blinds are raised and lowered using a control cord. When blinds are fully lowered, this cord will be manufactured to be no longer than 1 metre. This ensures that they are out of reach of small children. You will also receive a child safety cleat which is used to retain any loose cord. The cleat is a separate item and should be fixed to the wall next to the cord. The cleat should be installed no less than 1.5m from floor level. Safety devices have been fully tested in compliance with British safety standard EN13120. You will find details of how to install the devices in the installation instructions. Please contact our friendly customer service team if you need any further advice. Please note that beds, cots and other items of furniture should not be positioned next to operating cords, so that the cords remain out of reach.
Motorised Operation - Child Safe by Design: Honeycomb Pleated Blinds can be operated using an integrated motor. We call this ‘Child Safe by design’ as there are no looped cords or chains required to operate the blind.

At newblinds.co.uk, child safety is of paramount importance. If left hanging freely, chains and cords from blinds can pose a direct threat to children. For this reason, we are working towards all of our products being cord-less or chain-free and therefore “safe by design”.
Where it is not yet feasible to supply a product that is “safe by design”, we ensure that the product is fully compliant with Child Safety legislation. Not only do we ensure that, where necessary, our products are supplied/fitted with child safety cleats/devices, but we also supply, free of charge, these items to our previous customers.
