The article states that ‘Do it yourself’ home automation systems are now becoming more common in homes. The US market alone for DIY systems and components will grow to $79m by 2019.
This growth is being stimulated by introduction of new lower cost easily accessible technologies. Systems and their components can easily be purchased, installed and controlled by the home owner, at relatively low cost, making it more appealing to gadget loving home owners who previously found such technologies out of reach.
