Up until recently, smart home automation systems have always been expensive. Considered an unnecessary luxury, home automation systems have remained the reserve of high net worth individuals, with systems being implemented by home automation experts. However, times are now changing according to an article by nextmarket.

The article states that ‘Do it yourself’ home automation systems are now becoming more common in homes. The US market alone for DIY systems and components will grow to $79m by 2019.

This growth is being stimulated by introduction of new lower cost easily accessible technologies. Systems and their components can easily be purchased, installed and controlled by the home owner, at relatively low cost, making it more appealing to gadget loving home owners who previously found such technologies out of reach.

As always, here at Newblinds.co.uk, we like to be up to date with the newest technology in the blinds industry. We are already able to offer electric blinds that can be controlled by your smartphone or tablet! We are able to offer 4 different levels of system will allow you to open, close and adjust your blinds with just the tap of a finger.

The first of our systems fits nicely into the area that nextmarket are terming DIY home automation, with the central hub available for hundreds rather than thousands of pounds. Not only can the system control your electric blinds but it may also be extended to control many other house hold appliances and services, meaning that at comparatively low cost, your whole home could be iphone, ipad or kindle controlled... Amazing!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be concentrating on each of the different systems...So stay tuned!

In the mean time, if you are interested in discussing these systems further why not enquire here or for simple handset controlled electric blinds, check out our remote control blinds here.
