"Fabric Size" option for roller blinds

What is “fabric size”?

If you are buying a roller blind from us online you will be presented with three options once you have entered your measurements: recess size, exact blind size and fabric size.

When would I choose fabric size?

Roller blinds are the only product with the fabric size option.

Fabric size is most commonly chosen when the customer knows the exact size of the fabric they need to cover a recess and are looking to fit the blind outside the recess.

What’s the difference between Exact Blind Size and Fabric Size?

It is very important to understand the difference between exact blind size and fabric size otherwise you may end up with a blind too big or too small for your window.

When we talk about width in terms of "fabric size" we are referring to the width of the fabric not the blind.

When you order “fabric size” the exact width of the blind is on average about 39mm wider than the fabric - this varies depending on the roller blind system chosen. This is the space taken up by the brackets and raising mechanism.

Still not sure?

As the difference between fabric size and exact blind size is differs between the different roller blinds in our range, we recommend that you contact our office on 0161 494 9616 or at customer.services@newblinds.co.uk if this measurement is critical to you.

It's a voice activated speaker-come-home-control hub which not only plays music from your favourite music apps, but integrates and controls other devices and services from the "Internet of Things" - Philips Hue, Hive, Netatmo, Nest, tado°, Uber to name a few.

Controlling Blinds with Samsung Smartthings

We're being asked rather a lot at the moment if it's possible to control our blinds using Smartthings by Samsung. Smartthings is a low(ish) cost home control system that is possible to configure yourself to control a number of compatible devices within the home. It is exclusively distributed through Amazon and Currys/PC World. It uses z-wave technology, but doesn't appear to support a great number of other products "out of the box". Therein lies the problem!
